The harsh, cruel face of the world,
Unable to escape a treacherous, solemn metaphor,
People dying at the hands of Humanity itself,
No one left unscathed, even children molested,
Violent, criminal acts, bizarre and disturbing,
Why is there so much bitterness, such negativity burgeoning,
Everywhere you see faces disdained, dejected, hopeless and dazed,
A great deal of resentment, avarice, awaiting a cruel and intricate fate,
Where is your heart? Are you already dead inside?
Not to shed a tear, unable to escape.
Scared to take the first step, to reach out to the unfortunates,
Are you still staring blindly at the World?
Fear and bewilderment written on your face,
You are frozen in time, unable to act.
Raise your Voice Now, make yourself be heard,
Before it is too late and you get fatally hurt.

This is why i have simply tuned out of the so-called news…
These stories show up on my other sites and I feel sad! Just wrote what came in my head!
Moving and troubleling. I have just been reading about the homeless and this reminds me of their dredful plight
Very sad situation! What’s the world doing- no one seems to care!
Your poem made me cry. Still disgusted from what happened in Delhi, India, in Dec 2012. ( everyday you here something nasty)Your reflects everything. Thought provoking. You are so young and so much bitterness. Is love, compassion, compatibility gone out of human race. All this makes me sad. I wish you all the best for your future.
Horrible things happening in this world are the result of sin. We were created for a higher purpose. That’s why I love Jesus, because he can transform in an instant a real beast into a kind and upright person. Apart from Him we can do nothing worthy. A beautiful poem. God bless you!
Thank you, God bless you too!
Thank you Indra! I cried for that girl, my teenager told me “Mama, why are you crying for her, she is not your family member” I told her if what happened to that girl happened to you , wouldn’t I cry?I told her to grow up, practice compassion, we are all connected to each other”
Your voice speaks loudly through the messages you share. Change comes through the light delivered by words like yours, mine and others. Even small messages become larger messages if one listens, he will share it with another, making two and maybe two share it and make it four…it is an endless battle…but keep on pushing forward, praying that many will be touched by the love you know that abounds in your spirit!
I agree! The world is a horrible place at times. And the message you shared in your poem is felt at heart level. I, for one, can’t wait for the day God makes it new again.
Yes, I pray for peace on Earth!
